How Do Millionaires Get Rich

With an estimate of a staggering eleven million millionaires in the world, it is interesting to note that the majority of millionaires are self-made, and were not born into their wealth.

Whilst it is easy for those of us who are jealous of their wealth, to accuse the rich of receiving their money from ‘Mummy and Daddy’, or being born into a pool of pound signs with a sugar spoon in their mouths, it has officially been recorded that the majority of wealthy people consider themselves ‘self-made’ millionaires.

 

It could be seen as surprising that after a recent study to find out How Millionaires Got Rich that 86% of millionaires did not consider themselves wealthy when growing up, and felt that they made their money through hard work and their own ambition.

So, now unfortunately we cannot accuse them any longer for being just one of the ‘lucky ones’; and to be honest its rather refreshing know that they have earnt their money fair and square (well in most cases anyway).

The self-made wealthy individuals climbed the money ladder through shrewd investments and capital appreciation, compensation and employee schemes like stock options and profit sharing. These showed to be their top sources of income. Those who were born into wealth believed inheritance, entrepreneurship and real estate investment made them their millions.

Another interesting finding within the study to establish How Do Millionaires Get Rich is that 35% of millionaires had a negative outlook on the current financial climate, 31% having a positive one, and 34% being neutral. This statistic is rather gob-smacking to me to be honest! To think that millionaires have anything but positivity about the financial climate at the moment is madness, as it doesn’t seem to me that their wealth is being affected hugely by it!

Saying that, I guess it is great to see and to find out that how most millionaires got rich is due to personal hard work and creative initiative, rather than being born with a silver spoon in their mouth.
